Jimmy Fallon asked the question on everyone’s lips after Tom Cruise and Taylor Swift were spotted watching the Kansas City Chiefs together this week: “What do you [two] talk about?”
The 64-year-old Mission: Impossible star was pictured chatting to the 36-year-old pop superstar in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday as she cheered on her husband, Travis Kelce, during the Chiefs’ first game of the 2026 NFL season against the Denver Broncos.
Cruise — who is currently promoting his new movie Digger — appeared on The Tonight Show Thursday where he revealed: “[Swift] was schooling me on football.”
“First of all, she’s a genius. I’ve been following her since she was a kid,” Cruise said of Swift. “Everybody there, all their friends — they’re a beautiful couple and magical in their own right.
“I haven’t been to a football game since pre-COVID… so to get to hang out there and have that moment, it was a lot,” he added.
Probed further about Swift’s football knowledge, Cruise said: “Oh, she knows her stuff... She knew nothing about football when she met Travis.”
But now, “She knows [football]. She’s just bringing it. She knows.”
Other than Swift “schooling” him on the sport, Cruise said they “talked about music and movies.”
“She’s funny, she’s got such a great sense of humor,” he added. “A brilliant writer also, by the way. A brilliant musician and director — very skilled.”
Cruise was among the throngs of VIP guests in attendance at Swift and Kelce’s New York City wedding at Madison Square Garden on July 3 this year.
The ceremony was officiated by Adam Sandler, with other guests including Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Zoe Kravitz, Graham Norton and Hugh Grant.
“I can’t thank everyone without giving a special thank you to the Adam Sandler,” Travis said upon returning to his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his former NFL star brother, Jason.
“For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor, and the way he did it in the very, you know, Sandman style, and giving us more than we could have ever imagined in that moment.
“Knowing that it was the biggest night of both of our lives, it was absolutely insane.”
Cruise himself is scheduled to appear on New Heights in an episode released Friday morning.
