Kota Kinabalu: All the 18,756 mature trees within the city are being constantly checked by City Hall.
Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah said this was vital to avoid untoward incidents from happening as in Kuala Lumpur where vehicles were damaged.
“We have a scheduled programme to carry out checks on all mature trees within our jurisdiction.
“Those with weak branches will be trimmed and trees that are considered too old or pose a danger will be chopped,” he said after the Kota Kinabalu City Hall Kaamatan Festival.
