KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 - Tremors from a weak magnitude 4.4 earthquake that struck the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor, at 4.55pm today were felt in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.
In a Facebook statement, the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the tremors were reported in several areas across Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor, as well as surrounding areas.
Earlier, MetMalaysia said the epicentre was located at coordinates 1.7ºN, 102.7ºE, at a depth of 10km, about 27km southwest of Batu Pahat.
MetMalaysia will continue to monitor the situation and has urged anyone who felt the tremors to fill up its questionnaire.
