Kota Kinabalu: A 26-year-old unemployed man was jailed seven months by the Magistrate’s Court for trespassing into a house in Lido.
Minson Ombolog pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles for trespassing into the house at Teck Guan Villa belonging to Chan May Ying, at 5.30am, on Dec 2, last year.
The charge under Section 448 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to three years or a fine of up to RM5,000, or both, on conviction.
Prosecuting Officer Inspector Kelvan Elson Maik told the court that the incident was witnessed by the neighbours.

Carmen said that Minson has a 58-year-old mother and 60-year-old father who need medical attention.
Kelvan applied for an adequate sentence.
The court ordered Minson to serve his sentence from the date of arrest.
In another case, three men were charged with committing mischief by cutting a cable belonging to a telecommunication company.
Mohd Alias Martinus, 35, Iskandar and Md Syari Mohammad, 30 pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to committing the offence at the manhole near the Aeropod flyover at midnight on Feb 14.
They were charged under Section 431A of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to two years or fine or both, on conviction.
The prosecution applied for another mention date and proposed bail at RM6,000 for Alias and Syari, who were labourers, and objected to bail for Iskandar as he has no documents.
The court set March 27 for case management and released Alias and Syari on a bail of RM2,000 in two sureties while Iskandar was denied bail.
