SHAH ALAM, July 6 - Two men found in possession of drugs, believed to be methamphetamine, were arrested in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor, yesterday.
Hulu Selangor district police said the arrest by its Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) following an inspection of the suspects led to the discovery of a transparent plastic baggie containing crystalline substances, believed to be methamphetamine.
“Following the arrest which was made around 6.45pm, the Hulu Selangor NCID has opened an investigation paper under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” it said in a Facebook post today.
If found guilty, suspects face a maximum fine of RM100,000, five years in prison, or both.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Manimaran Muniandy said immediate action would be taken following any complaint and information channelled to the force, without compromise or prejudice.
