POLICE have detained two male family members of a 49-year-old woman with disabilities who was found dead with stab wounds to her leg at her home in Kampung Cheh Hilir, Kati, in Kuala Kangsar yesterday.
Kuala Kangsar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun said the two men were detained after the incident was reported at about 2.15pm to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
He said preliminary investigations indicated that the incident stemmed from a disagreement between the victim and the suspects.
“Initial investigations also found that family members had discovered the victim lying face down, unconscious and covered in blood in the living room of the house.
“Police subsequently detained two men who are also family members of the victim as they are believed to be involved in the case,” he said in a statement last night.
Heisham said police also found a knife believed to have been used in the incident, while the victim’s body was sent to the Forensic Department of Taiping Hospital for a post-mortem.
The victim, identified as Nor Ainon Omar, 49, was earlier reported to have been found dead at the house with stab wounds to her leg.
She lived at the residence with her husband and three children, who were also reported to be persons with disabilities. - September 24, 2026
