The Delhi Police Special Cell have arrested two persons, including a juvenile, in connection with the recent firing incident outside Ginger Hotel in east Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area, officials said on Monday.

The police said two semi-automatic pistols and four live cartridges were seized from the accused.

According to officials, the incident took place on the intervening night of May 20 and 21 when masked assailants allegedly opened fire outside the gate of Ginger Hotel before fleeing the spot. Four rounds were reportedly fired during the incident.

Following the firing, a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act was registered at the Vivek Vihar police station.

A Special Cell team of the Eastern Range launched an investigation and developed intelligence inputs to trace the accused. On May 23, the police received information that the suspects were heading towards the Ghazipur area to meet an associate.

Acting on the tip-off, the police laid a trap near the Ghazipur Paper Market and apprehended 19-year-old Ajay, alias Ajju, a resident of Shahdara, along with a child in conflict with law (CCL).

During the search, the police seized a semi-automatic pistol and two live cartridges from Ajay, while another pistol and two cartridges were recovered from the juvenile, officials said.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed that the firing was carried out to take revenge over a dispute involving club billing. The police said some friends of the accused had visited the hotel’s club earlier this month where an argument reportedly broke out with the management over payment following a party.

“Bearing a grudge over the humiliation, they orchestrated a revenge attack against the club management,” an officer said. The police said Ajay had earlier been involved in an attempt to murder case registered at Farsh Bazar police station in 2025. Further probe was on to trace other accused and identify the source of the illegal weapons, officials added.
