A LATE-NIGHT collision on the North–South Expressway near Juru claimed the lives of two men on Wednesday, 19 November, after their multi-purpose vehicle ploughed into a lorry travelling along the same stretch.
The victims, driver Mohamad Nizar Abdul Rahman, 32, and passenger Muhammad Fakhrur Razi Usri, 31, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services were alerted at about 11.22pm and firefighters raced to the location, where they were forced to extricate both men from the severely crushed vehicle.
The force of the impact left the MPV almost entirely crumpled, with much of its structure compacted beyond recognition.
The lorry driver, 37-year-old Ismail Che Dat, who had been transporting fruits, escaped without injury.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. - November 20, 2025
