TWO school students aged 13 and 14 were charged in the Magistrate’s Court in Parit today with voluntarily causing hurt to a 13-year-old student using an iron in an alleged bullying incident at a tahfiz school last week.
Both students pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read before Magistrate Nurul Izalina Rajaai in a closed-door proceeding.
They were jointly charged with intentionally causing hurt to the victim using an iron, an object capable of causing death.
The offence was allegedly committed at a tahfiz school in Parit at about 4pm on Sept 19.
The two students were charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code, read with Section 34 of the same law, which carries a maximum jail term of 10 years, or a fine, or whipping, or any two of the punishments, upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor R Jayasri appeared for the prosecution, while the students were represented by National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK) lawyer Nur Nadzrah Badarudin.
The court granted each student bail of RM5,000 and fixed Oct 27 for mention of the case. - September 25, 2026
