U Mobile has updated its prepaid and postpaid plans, removing speed caps in favour of defined data quotas at full speed for prepaid users. The new ULTRA Prepaid and ULTRA Postpaid plans are available from 7 April 2026.
What Has Changed For Prepaid
The previous prepaid plans offered unlimited data with speed restrictions of between 6Mbps and 24Mbps. The new ULTRA Prepaid plans remove those caps entirely. Three monthly plans and four shorter-term plans are now available.
Monthly plans:
All three monthly plans include unlimited local calls. The ULTRA Prepaid 28 comes with a separate 5GB hotspot quota, while the RM38 and RM50 plans share hotspot from the main data bucket. The RM50 plan also includes two free 3-hour ULTRA5G Priority passes.
Weekly and daily plans:
Weekly and daily plans do not include calls and share hotspot from the main data quota.
What Has Changed For Postpaid
Three ULTRA Postpaid plans are now available, all with unlimited calls and hotspot drawn from the main data quota. Once the monthly data quota is exhausted, speeds reduce to 512kbps rather than cutting off entirely.
The ULTRA Postpaid 68 includes 15GB of roaming data across Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, while the ULTRA Global 98 extends that to over 60 destinations at the same 15GB quota. Free ULTRA5G Priority passes are included across all three plans, with one pass for the RM45 plan, two for the RM68 plan, and three for the RM98 plan.
ULTRA5G Priority Gives Users A Fast Lane In Congested Areas
Both prepaid and postpaid ULTRA subscribers can access ULTRA5G Priority, which provides a dedicated priority lane on U Mobile’s 5G Standalone network. This is intended for high-congestion situations such as busy commercial areas or large events, where standard speeds may slow down.
Additional passes are available at RM2 for 1 hour and RM5 for 3 hours via the MyUMobile app. A compatible 5G SA device is required to use the feature.
ULTRA Security Pro Launches 14 April
All three postpaid plans will include ULTRA Security Pro, a network-level security feature that launches on 14 April 2026. It provides protection against online threats at the network level, meaning it operates without requiring a separate app to be installed. Subscribers who do not wish to continue using it after the included period can opt out, as it will be available as a standalone subscription at RM5 per month.
