U Mobile launches ULTRA5G prepaid, postpaid and business plans with priority access, high data and built-in security
PETALING JAYA: U Mobile Sdn Bhd has unveiled its most comprehensive portfolio to date with the launch of its ULTRA5G solutions, targeting both consumers and enterprises.
The new suite of offerings includes prepaid, postpaid and enterprise plans designed to maximise the capabilities of its next-generation 5G network.
The portfolio introduces several industry-first features, including ULTRA5G Priority Pass, built-in intelligent security and ULTRA5G Reserve, reflecting the company’s focus on innovation and evolving consumer and business needs.
Speaking at the launch, U Mobile Chief Consumer Business Officer Navin Manian said modern users are placing greater importance on speed, data and reliability, particularly as connectivity becomes essential in daily life and travel.
He stated that consumers today expect seamless connectivity even in high-density areas such as stadiums, transport hubs and commercial centres, while rising cyber threats have also made security a key concern.
“The new ULTRA prepaid and postpaid plans set a new standard by offering more data, higher speeds, stronger security and greater reliability, both in Malaysia and abroad,” he said.
The newly introduced prepaid plans offer unlimited-speed data with no speed cap, alongside unlimited calls and free hotspot usage.
Data plans provide up to 500GB of data, while the ULTRA5G Priority Pass allows users to access prioritised network connectivity during peak congestion periods. The passes are available on demand, with flexible pricing options.
Postpaid plans, meanwhile, offer up to 1,000GB of data and include 15GB of global roaming data at no additional cost, targeting frequent travellers.
Priority Passes are also included across all plans, with higher-tier packages offering additional monthly passes.
Among the standout offerings is the ULTRA Family 128 plan, which includes four shareable lines, 1,000GB of shared data and complimentary roaming across more than 60 destinations.
The plan also provides additional features such as built-in security protection against phishing and cyber threats, as well as a promotional buy-one-free-one 5G device offer.
Navin said the company’s evolution “from unbeatable to ULTRA” reflects its efforts to expand 5G coverage nationwide while strengthening its retail and digital presence.
“Our next-generation, AI-powered 5G network allows us to deliver plans that are built around what consumers truly need, whether it is faster speeds, larger data quotas or enhanced security,” he added.
To encourage adoption, U Mobile is offering a complimentary seven-day trial, which includes 10GB of 5G data and free calls on eSIM-compatible devices.
The company also introduced its ULTRA Business plans, aimed at redefining enterprise connectivity.
U Mobile Chief Business Officer How Lih Ren said the new offerings are designed around the principle that not all network traffic is equal, with a focus on prioritisation, seamless connectivity and integrated security.
Central to the enterprise offering is ULTRA5G Reserve, a network prioritisation feature that ensures business data traffic is given precedence over standard usage, delivering up to four times better performance during peak periods.
The enterprise plans also include built-in security features to protect against malware, phishing and data breaches, as well as roaming access across 60 destinations through partnerships with leading international network providers.
Plans offer up to 2,000GB of data, alongside unlimited calls and SMS, and include complimentary 5G devices to support workforce productivity.
Beyond mobile services, U Mobile is expanding its enterprise portfolio to include ULTRA Business WiFi, Business Fibre, Dedicated Internet Access and ULTRA IoT solutions, aimed at supporting businesses with scalable and integrated connectivity.
Lih Ren described the launch as a strategic shift in the company’s enterprise direction.
“We are moving towards a model designed around business outcomes, where performance is prioritised, mobility is seamless and security is built in by default,” he said.
The new ULTRA5G products are powered by U Mobile’s AI-driven 5G standalone network, which has achieved 80 per cent coverage of populated areas nationwide as of March 2026, ahead of schedule.
The telco has also received industry recognition, including being named Malaysia’s fastest 5G network by Ookla and winning Best 5G Availability by Opensignal.
U Mobile Chief Technology Officer Woon Ooi Yuen said the network has been built with security at its core, having blocked more than 390 million scam attempts through network-level voice and SMS firewalls.
He added that the company is on track to introduce network-embedded Security-as-a-Service at the infrastructure level, further strengthening protection for both consumers and businesses.
“With this launch, we are turning advanced 5G capabilities into meaningful, real-world benefits, from faster speeds and better availability to built-in protection and enterprise-grade prioritisation,” he said.
The launch marks U Mobile’s push to set a new benchmark for 5G services in Malaysia, enabling individuals and businesses to operate with greater confidence, flexibility and security in an increasingly digital landscape.
