Olympique Marseille have been handed an overall fine of €10 million ($11.6 million) for Financial Fair Play violations by the ruling body UEFA and could also face exclusion from European competitions.

UEFA said on Wednesday that OM did not meet earnings regulations in 2025-26 which covers the periods ending 2023, 2024 and 2025.

It said that it took into account the unexpected lower TV income for French clubs.

Marseille were fined €6 million for this and an additional €4 million for violating squad cost rules last season.

The club faces exclusion from European football for three seasons if it doesn't meet the earnings target in the next season 2026-27.

OM said they acknowledges the decision which allows it to take part in the UEFA Europa League in the 2026-2027 season.

"Above all, it serves as a reminder of the responsibility that now falls upon us: it comes with significant requirements and fully commits Olympique de Marseille. The club will continue to make every effort necessary to honour all of its commitments and meet the conditions set out by UEFA."
