SHAH ALAM – A brief social media post by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has fuelled speculation online, coming hours after the Federal Territories Pardons Board met to consider former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's pardon application.
Asyraf posted the single word "Alhamdulillah" on his social media account on Thursday morning without any accompanying explanation.
The post drew attention because it appeared shortly after a morning of heightened interest surrounding the Pardons Board meeting at Istana Negara.

Vehicles believed to be carrying Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar were seen entering Istana Negara at about 7.48am ahead of the meeting.
Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain was also seen entering the palace grounds before proceedings began.
The vehicle carrying Hannah and Razarudin was later seen leaving Istana Negara at about 9.40am.
As of publication, neither Istana Negara nor the Federal Territories Pardons Board had issued an official statement on the outcome of the meeting.
Najib's pardon application was previously deferred during the 63rd Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting on Sept 11.
At the same meeting, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim granted pardons to 65 inmates.
There is no official confirmation that Asyraf's social media post was linked to the Pardons Board meeting or to Najib's pardon application.
Nevertheless, the timing prompted widespread discussion on social media, with users speculating about whether an announcement could be forthcoming.
