A family residing in Ward number-5 of the Santoshgarh Municipal Committee on Monday submitted a memorandum to Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, requesting him that water and electricity connections to their house be restored immediately or they would take some extreme step. Sunita Devi, along with her husband and two children, alleged in the memorandum that about two months ago, her mother-in-law in connivance with her elder son’s family had cut the electricity cable leading to her house. They had also cut off water supply to their home. She added that drinking water and electricity were the basic rights and needs of every human being and these facilities be immediately restored to their house.
Sunita said that during the peak summer season, they were forced to spend nights with mosquitoes and other insects posing the danger of diseases. She added that her children sat under streetlights to study and complete their home works.
The Deputy Commissioner said that he had referred the matter to the Una SDM, who would personally visit their place and sort out the matter on priority.
