
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy visit from the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ajay Sharma, at his office at Menara Kinabalu, Wednesday.
The meeting marked Sharma’s first courtesy call on Hajiji since assuming office as the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia and served as his official introductory visit to the Chief Minister.
Hajiji welcomed Sharma to Sabah and expressed hope that the close relationship between Sabah and the United Kingdom would continue to be strengthened.
Sharma was appointed United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia in April 2025.
He has more than three decades of experience in the British diplomatic service, having previously served as the British Ambassador to Qatar and held several senior positions at the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Also present during the courtesy call were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Lo Su Fui and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun.
