
TAWAU: In just three months Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) conducted more than 18 online activities for Indonesia and China students.
“The Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy (FBEA) successfully conducted 18 activities for 88 international mobility students from Indonesia and China,” its newly-appointed Department Dean Associate Professor Dr Mohd Rahimie Abdul Karim said. He said all the activities were co ducted under the programme of Taking a Different Path: Tragedy in History, Getting to Know Your Sabah, Crisscrossing Malaysia: Through Folk Games and Culture, and Tour of Foodie.
FBEA’s programme is focussed on culture talk, traditional games and tourism hotspots, he added. “The activities are unique opportunity for online mobility students to gain invaluable experience, learn simple culture and knowledge, especially post pandemic and open for travel”.
He said the programme was intended to provide a platform for sharing of ideas and experience between international students and local counterparts.
Prof Mohd Rahimie stressed that the faculty is always committed to ensure all online mobility activities will always be invaluable and meaningful to students, for them to visit Sabah in future, especially now travel has been allowed and hope to see increase in students on days to come.
On his part, former FBEA dean Prof Datuk Dr Hj Kasim Hj Md Mansur welcomed the idea to further promote exchange programme and continuos collaboration in many aspects.
Hr also congratulated the mobility students at the faculty and hoped to receive more students in future.
