University Malaysia Sabah students interact with local folks

Kota Kinabalu: A one-day programme designed to foster the spirit of volunteering among students was successfully organised by University Malaysia Sabah (UMS), recently.

Held at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tambulaong, the event was a collaboration effort with UMS Non- Resident Management Centre and Student Housing Facilities (PNRF).

Muazam said the programme was also intended to increase the knowledge and experience of UMS students while interacting with the local community.

“In addition, this programme also emphasised the importance of knowledge and education through various mediums in life,” he stressed, adding it was also in line with UMS’ first Key Achievement Area (KRA) to provide quality experience for students.

The Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) and SK Tambulaong school also played vital roles in the success of the day-long programme.

Also present were SK Tambulaong headmastee Noraida Hj Lamsari, UMS PNRF Director Hasmi Hashim, and PIBG Chairman Edwin Lumbating.
