[UNOFFICIAL] Johor polls: BN secures simple majority to return to power

JOHOR BAHRU - Barisan Nasional (BN) has successfully secured the mandate to lead the Johor state government once again after winning a simple majority in the 16th state election today.

According to unofficial results from the Election Commission, BN won 29 out of the total 56 state seats contested in this election.

In the 16th Johor polls, BN fielded candidates in all 56 state constituencies to secure the people's mandate to govern the state for the next five years.

The result was achieved after the voting process, which began at 8am today and officially ended at 6pm.
