SHAH ALAM - Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan), led by Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, made history after securing its maiden victory by winning three of the four seats it contested in the Negeri Sembilan polls.
Based on the current count, Wawasan, which contested under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) logo, won the Klawang, Sikamat and Gemas State Legislative Assembly state seats.
In Gemas, PN's Wawasan candidate Ridzuan Ahmad polled 13,449 votes with a majority of 10,718, defeating Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Siti Aishah Seman Othman, who garnered 2,731 votes and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) candidate Azman Abdullah, who received 880 votes.
In Sikamat, Wawasan's Datuk Razali Abu Samah also won with 11,789 votes, defeating Nor Azman Mohamad (PH), who received 9,177 votes, and Bersatu candidate Tun Faisal Ismail with 442 votes, recording a majority of 2,612 votes.
Meanwhile, in Klawang, Danni Rais won narrowly with 746 votes, defeating Bakri Sawir (PH), who obtained 683 votes and Adib Musa (Bersatu) with 83 votes, securing a majority of 63 votes.
PN had earlier announced it would contest only 11 seats in Negeri Sembilan polls, completing the overall total of 36 seats after 11 seats were left vacant following BN's announcement of 25 candidates.
For the seat distribution, Pas fielded five candidates, Wawasan contested four seats, while Gerakan and the Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP) each fielded one candidate.
Among the seats contested by Wawasan were Gemas, Klawang, Sikamat and Mambau.
