
Kota Kinabalu: A six-month “Unwrapping Plastics KK Project” has ended in a resounding success, with more than 240 Sabahan students educated and primed to be environmentally-responsible citizens in the face of climate change and environment issues.
An initiative by Meraki Daat Sabah – sponsored by the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, supported by the Sabah Education Department and a part of City Hall’s (DBKK) Love KK programme, the project was aimed at educating the youths and community on plastic pollution while promoting sustainable living practices.
Five schools were selected for the initiative that started in October 2022 and ended in May this year, namely SK Tg Aru I and II, SK and SMK Gaya, Pulau Gaya and the Alternative Learning Centre (ALC) Kinarut under the Etania Schools programme.
