MANILA, Philippines — University of the Philippines pumped life to its UAAP Season 88 women's Final Four bid after repeating over Ateneo de Manila, 25-20, 25-14, 25-23, at the Mall of Asia Arena Wednesday.
The Fighting Maroons closed out the match with a 4-0 run capped by a Niña Ytang ace to climb back from a 21-23 hole and sweep their season series against the Blue Eagles.
Ytang poured 18 points to lead UP which improved to 5-6 for sixth place in the standings, keeping its semis chances alive with three games left.
The already-eliminated Ateneo dropped to 1-10, second to the bottom of the 8-team league.
