KENINGAU: Community leaders, particularly those in the Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM), play a key role in clarifying government initiatives at the grassroots level.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor also urged UPPM leaders to cooperate with all elected representatives, including leaders of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) component parties in their respective constituencies.
“As the government’s eyes and ears, the service of community leaders such as UPPM officers and mukim developers is crucial.
"Continue to intensify efforts to assist elected representatives and component party division leaders within GRS and PH.
“Therefore, it is vital for UPPM to explain to the people what has been implemented and the assistance or initiatives provided by the state government over the past four years.
“I emphasise this because, as we are all aware, this is an election year. We must stand united to ensure GRS is entrusted with the mandate again in this election,” he said.
He made these remarks at a breaking-of-fast event organised by the Community Development Leaders Unit of the Chief Minister’s Department in collaboration with Kim Teck Cheong Consolidation Berhad at the Keningau Sports Complex on Thursday.
