
MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas secured the last UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball stepladder semifinals berth with a 16-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16 win over Far Eastern University in a playoff for No. 4 at the Araneta Coliseum Saturday.
Booting out the Lady Tamaraws, the Golden Tigresses advanced to the first phase of the stepladder semis where they will face the No. 3 seed Adamson Lady Falcons in another knockout match.
Angge Poyos fired 26 points including six in UST’s 10-2 run that turned an 11-10 lead into an insurmountable 21-12 advantage.
The Tigresses thus defeated the Lady Tamaraws in all their three matches this season.
