Victorious Spanish team parade through Madrid after World Cup triumph

Spain's World Cup-winning football team received a rapturous welcome as an open-top bus parade wound its way through central Madrid on Monday. Fans packed the streets, waving Spanish flags and cheering as the players travelled from near Moncloa Palace to Cibeles Square after Sunday's 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final.

Supporters lined the route hours before the team arrived. Many wore Spain shirts, while others held homemade signs, including a poster featuring a long-haired cat in tribute to defender Marc Cucurella. The players waved to the crowd from the bus as chants echoed through the capital.

Fans described the celebration as unforgettable, speaking of the excitement, pride and joy of sharing the moment with family and fellow supporters after Spain secured its second men's World Cup title.
