
Kota Kinabalu: Yong Wai Ching was elected as the new president of Sabah Golf and Country Club (SGCC) for the 2025/2026 term at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Sunday.
Wai Ching secured a decisive victory with 398 votes, ahead of Lim Choon Yang who mustered 193 votes.
For the post of Deputy President, Datu Khalilulrahman Datu Khalil emerged victorious with 347 votes, defeating Oan Beng Khean who garnered 226 votes.

In the race for Secretary, Julia Hwong Huay Huay won with 339 votes, beating Jerry Ong Cheong Beng who received 250 votes.
The post of Treasurer was won by Wong Wee Kiat @ Kenny with 342 votes, over Aaron Yong Jun Yee who received 213 votes.
Additionally, Aaron Pong Kang Jie, Yannik Mohd. Anuar, Lo Siew Ming, David Lo Ho Ping @ David Lo, Elizabeth Shanmuganathan, Wong Fu Vui, Nigel S.C. Majalang, Loh Boon Hon, Sim Fui and Chu Cheong Yin were elected to the General Committee.
A total of 601 votes were cast by members, reflecting strong participation and engagement from the club’s community.
The newly elected committee will assume office immediately and is committed to upholding the values and excellence of SGCC.
