Kota Kinabalu: A weak earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale struck the Borneo region at 10.30pm on Thursday, Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported.
According to data, the tremor was located at coordinates 6.6° North and 118.3° East, approximately 88 kilometres north of Sandakan and 354km south of Palawan, the Philippines, at a depth of 392km.
There is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
