Malaysia’s badminton star Man Wei Chong ties the knot with longtime partner Ai Ting ahead of the Malaysia Masters title defence.

FRESH off his return from the Thomas Cup in Horsens, national men’s doubles star Man Wei Chong, 25, is celebrating a major milestone off the court after tying the knot with longtime partner Ai Ting on Wednesday (May 6).

The world No. 6 shuttler exchanged vows with Ai Ting just six months after the couple announced their engagement on Nov 26 last year.

The wedding reception, held at the Selangor Assembly Hall, was attended by several of Wei Chong’s teammates from the national squad, including his on-court partner Tee Kai Wun, as well as Aaron Chia, Choong Hon Jian and Loo Bing Kun.

Fans and members of the badminton fraternity also took to social media to congratulate the newlyweds and wish them well in their married life.

“Congratulations to Man (Wei Chong) and wife, God bless,” wrote national doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky on social media.

Wei Chong is now expected to turn his focus back to competition as he reunites with Tee Kai Wun for the upcoming Malaysia Masters from May 19 to 24, where the pair will be looking to defend their title.
