Wednesday’s sport: What’s on and where can I watch it?

Scotland return to World Cup action when they take on Brazil in their final Group C match.

Co-hosts Mexico are also in action while England face West Indies at the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Here is a guide to what is happening in the sporting world on Wednesday, and where you can watch it in the UK.

Scotland push for qualification

Victory over Haiti in their opening World Cup match has guaranteed Scotland at least a third-placed finish ahead of their clash with Brazil in Miami.

But Steve Clarke’s side may need at least a point to secure their place in the last 32, which presents a formidable challenge.

The match kicks off at 11pm UK, with coverage on BBC One from 10pm.

England bid for fourth win

Two unbeaten teams clash at the Women’s T20 World Cup when hosts England take on West Indies at Lord’s.

Both sides have won their opening three matches and will be looking to clinch a spot in the semi-finals, with coverage on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket from 6pm.

Groups A, B and C all conclude at the World CupSwitzerland play Canada (ITV 7pm) and Bosnia and Herzegovina take on Qatar (ITV4 7pm), while the other match in Scotland’s group sees Morocco face Haiti (BBC Two England 10.50pm).

In the early hours of Thursday, Mexico meet the Czech Republic (BBC One 1.45am) and South Africa take on South Korea (BBC Two England 1.50am).

Jack Draper continues his comeback at the Eastbourne Open against fellow British player Jack Pinnington Jones, while second-round matches take place in Wimbledon qualifying, with coverage of both available on the BBC’s digital platforms.

2010: American 23rd seed John Isner beat France’s Nicolas Mahut 6-4 3-6 6-7 (7) 7-6 (3) 70-68 in the first round at Wimbledon. The match was the longest in professional tennis history lasting 11 hours and five minutes.

2014: England ended their winless World Cup campaign with a goalless draw against Costa Rica, which ensured they would finish bottom of Group D.

2023: Tammy Beaumont broke Betty Snowball’s 88-year record for the highest score by a female England player with her 208 in the Ashes Test against Australia at Trent Bridge.
