Kota Kinabalu: Technical Advisor (Forestry) to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Sam Mannan warned against analysis paralysis that might delay the enactment of Sabah’s carbon law to regulate its carbon assets, said to be worth much more in future perpetuity than finite resources of its discovered oil and gas reserves.
“I don’t want that,” he said.
Although the tenure of the Interim Committee on Climate Change which he chairs is for one year from August 1 to advise on the vetting of forest-based carbon projects, among others, Sam called for the possible sooner enactment of Sabah’s carbon law within “three to six months.”
