There are two videos circulating on the web that bring laughter to many but might also alarm an even larger number of supporters of our new PM.
We would like to start by asking you to view a video uploaded on July 31, 2018 where Mat Sabu mocked Najib when he appointed himself as Finance Minister of the country while he was a Prime Minister.
The audience is heard laughing in the background when Mat Sabu told of a situation when Najib the Finance Minister had to ask Najib the PM to approve what Najib requested. He says when Najib approves, the rakyat's money goes out to Najib. More laughter follows.
What Mat Sabu said raises the question of a conflict of interest when the Prime Minister holds the finance portfolio at the same time.
The checks and balances that are supposed to be in place to avoid such conflicts are thrown out the window.
Greed could overcome an individual when too much power is held by one person and the opportunity to commit crimes is made easily available.
Mat Sabu made that allegation against Najib when he was in the opposition criticize Najib's action that led to financial mismanagement such as 1MDB that involves billions allegedly siphoned off by a PM and his cronies from the national coffers.
It's not a laughing matter although Mat Sabu made it sound like the joke of the day!
It could create a dangerous precedence that might be followed by other Prime Ministers who eventually succeeded Najib.
We did not have long to wait to see Najib's errant ways repeated by PM10 when he announced he himself would be the Minister of Finance.
There's a saying that says what goes around comes around. When it happened during Najib's era Mat Sabu made a joke about his errant ways.
Now this is happening again except that it is not the opposition that people like Mat Sabu may be laughing at this time.
It's their own leader of Pakatan Harapan that is making the same mistake that Najib made which they mocked then.
This time Mat Sabu's video is edited replacing Najib's name with that of Anwar Ibrahim by a Tiktok user @ratunaga. Watch the video uploaded below.
It might make you laugh listening to the voice over by @ratunaga of Tiktok. But it may likely anger you more for allowing this outright conflict to happen yet again.
No money has yet been approved by Anwar the PM at the request of Anwar the Finance Minister but the probability exists.
Someone remarked that when a PM is also the FM asking for approval is just by looking at yourself in the mirror and nodding your own head at a meeting without anyone else being there!
