Dave Portnoy believes the New England Patriots have given their fans a real reason to start thinking about Los Angeles.

The excitement is not based on blind offseason optimism. Two major trades changed the tone around the league, and Portnoy quickly turned that movement into a bold prediction.

For a fan base that has been waiting for the Patriots to feel dangerous again, the message was simple: this no longer looks like a quiet rebuild.

Dave Portnoy sees New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams building toward another Super Bowl clash

In a recent Dave Portnoy X post, he reacted to the Patriots landing AJ Brown and the Rams pulling off a deal for Myles Garrett by sending New England fans straight into Super Bowl mode.

“Time to book your flights and hotels to LA if you’re a Pats fan. Pats vs Rams III,” Portnoy tweeted in excitement.

New England reportedly sent a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder to the Eagles for Brown, giving Drake Maye the kind of true No. 1 receiver the offense had badly needed.

Los Angeles made its own win-now move by landing Garrett from the Browns, with Cleveland receiving Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.

That is why Portnoy jumped straight to Patriots-Rams. The matchup already carries Super Bowl history, and both teams just made moves that suggest they are not waiting around.

Dave Portnoy says New England Patriots offense has enough firepower to dream big

Portnoy then doubled down on what Brown’s arrival could mean for a Patriots offense that suddenly looks far more explosive than it did before the trade.

“The Patriots may score 40 a game this year. Weapons everywhere. Best QB in football. Best coach in football. Great defense. Lots to be excited about,” Portnoy stated.

Brown gives Maye a physical, proven receiver who can win outside, create after the catch and force defenses to respect New England differently.

The Rams side of the prediction is just as clear. Garrett gives Los Angeles a game-wrecking pass rusher, which makes the idea of another Patriots-Rams meeting feel less like nostalgia and more like a real possibility.

Portnoy is selling the dream early, but that is what these trades did. They gave both fan bases enough star power to imagine something much bigger than a normal offseason headline.
