Gareth Bale backs Carlo Ancelotti to replace Michael Carrick

Speaking in an interview with The Overlap podcast, Gareth Bale praised Carlo Ancelotti’s qualities as a manager and suggested he would thrive at Manchester United.

“He did well at Everton. I think he would do great [at Manchester United]. He’s not just a manager, he’s a coach as well. He can do the tactical stuff.

“Wherever Carlo goes, I think he will do an amazing job just because he gets everyone on board,” Bale said.

The Welsh forward has often spoken about how the Italian’s calm approach and tactical intelligence helped create a strong dressing room environment.

Those qualities, Bale believes, would translate well to a club like Manchester United, where managing big personalities is part of the job.

Carlo Ancelotti could simplify things for Manchester United

Bale also believes Ancelotti’s strength lies in his ability to get the best out of talented squads.

“If you go into a big club, you’ve got good players. Whether they’re performing at the time or not, like Man United prior to the last few weeks, he’ll get the best out of these players,” Bale continued.

The Welshman concluded: “He will just simplify things, which you see now with Michael Carrick.”

Ancelotti has built his reputation across Europe by succeeding with elite teams at clubs such as AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

His ability to manage star players while keeping tactics clear and simple has often been credited as one of the main reasons behind his success.

For Bale, those traits make Ancelotti the type of manager who could quickly stabilise a club like Manchester United if the opportunity ever arose.
