The Sonipat police have launched a large-scale verification drive targeting offenders involved in serious crimes over the past decade as part of a statewide initiative aimed at strengthening surveillance and curbing organised crime.
The exercise is being carried out under the Rohtak-Jhajjar-Sonipat-Faridabad (RJSF) campaign, a special policing initiative covering the crime-sensitive districts of Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonipat and Faridabad.
Under the campaign, police across the four districts have identified 10,892 offenders allegedly involved in crimes such as murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, drug trafficking and property-related offences during the past 10 years. Special operations have been launched to carry out the physical verification of all identified offenders.
n What does the RJSF campaign mean?
The Haryana Police have launched a new initiative featuring a special strategy against crime and criminals that is more scientific, technology-driven and effective. The specialised Rohtak-Jhajjar-Sonipat-Faridabad (RJSF) Unit—constituted for the state’s crime-sensitive districts of Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonipat and Faridabad—is creating a comprehensive database of criminals involved in heinous crimes over the past 10 years and maintaining continuous surveillance through the physical verification of such offenders.
The primary objective of the initiative is to eradicate organised crime, monitor criminal activities in real time and prevent potential crimes before they occur. The database incorporates extensive information, including detailed profiles of each criminal’s history, activities, contacts, social background and current status.
Apart from this, the special focus of the RJSF is not only on active criminals but also on preventing new entrants from joining organised criminal gangs.
