Why spend more money just to accommodate Najib while he is in prison?

A DAP central executive committee member Syahredzan Johan rightly commented the home affairs minister should answer allegations that RM3.5 million is being spent just to accommodate Najib Razak. (The Vibes).
Apparently, The Vibes reported that an WhatsApp message circulating on social media claims that an amount of RM50,000 was purportedly used to renovate Najib’s cell at Kajang Prison. Why?
For us the public, Najib stole money from the country and was jailed for the crime but now the government spends more to make him comfortable in prison.
Secondly, why the double standards in the treatment of prisoners.
Prisoners are not expected to have a luxurious living condition while in prison.
Only El Chapo, Pablo Escobar, the billionaire CEO of a vast business drug empire was given permission to create his own custom-made prison in the city of Medellin.
He was the only person in the world we know who could build his own prison to suit his own taste and lifestyle. But then again he used his own money from his business.
That led Syahredzan to demand an explanation from the home affairs minister who was only allocated RM12.4 million for the repair and renovations of all prisons under Budget 2022 and yet used RM3.5 million for just one prisoner?
Syahredzan went on to say that while we expect prisoners to be treated fairly, any special treatment, for example pressuring civil servants to provide additional comfort for a notorious convict would be highly inappropriate.
We believe it is preposterous to give Najib uncalled for privileges while he is just another convicted prisoner.
We agree with Syahredzan who warned that if left unchecked, these unfair treatment will erode the confidence of the people in relevant institutions. .
The Vibes say RM3.5 million is being spent on Najib’s health, transport and accommodation in prison.
The teport also alleged that the prisoner was moved to the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (CRH) to allow him better access to visitors.
Supposedly Najib will be spending most of his sentence at the Cheras hospital from now on! This is indeed incredible!
From what we know Cheras Rehab Hospital has better facilities available than at Kajang prison, like a swimming pool and a well equipped gym for Najib to while away his time. It sounds like a holiday retreat than a prison for the convict.
Yet Najib's supporters claimed that Anwar Ibrahim was there too while in prison. But the latter replied "What utter rubbish!...I was only sent to the rehab centre after a major shoulder surgery." The Vibes.
Anwar added that “I was given that facility at the rehab centre (in Cheras) after serving more than 10 years in solitary confinement lockup in prison". The Vibes.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Najib was transferred to CRH from Kuala Lumpur Hospital on the advice of doctors as he required physiotherapy. Why physiotherapy?
Khairy denied that Najib was receiving special treatment.
We will never know the real reason because the health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said only the court can be privy to a prisoner’s health information.
Meanwhile we see no reason why we have to put up with this endless gripes from Najib about prison conditions and the government having to pay additional amount of money and attention just to satisfy his wants and his family's demands.
He should suffer for his crimes. Why pay more just to accommodate him?
