Surprise, surprise, surprise!

Najib given a clean bill of health and ready to go back to Kajang cell while Zahid whom many were hoping would join the boss was acquitted.

He is acquitted of 40 charges of corruption over visa online scheme while his UMNO colleague, Azeez former chairman of Tabung Haji was also discharged not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) of corruption on the same day.

Three surprises in one day was more than enough for us to handle.

The first surprise was when news reports say specialists at Cheras Rehab Centre found Najib to be in good health and discharged him. So, he's not ill after all.

While at HRC physiotherapists also taught him how to carry out exercises on his own and the specialists also updated his family members on his current health condition. No more hysterics from Najib's family members henceforth.

So, it looks like there's no reason for him to go back and forth to hospital from now on. Perhaps the alleged renovation works on his cell would have been completed too in his absence. Rest in comfort Bossku!

Meanwhile, commenting on Zahid's acquittal, Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming accused Zahid of being quick to change his stand on the judiciary, having criticised it in the past over Najib Razak’s SRC International trial. FMT.

On Aug 17, Zahid said the Federal Court’s decision to reject Najib’s application to adduce fresh evidence in his SRC appeal could “erode the integrity of the judiciary”. Nga said Zahid changed his stand “From condemning to praising the judiciary, Umno-Barisan Nasional is so pquick to change their colour. Can you believe in such a double standard?” (FMT)

We wonder what Zahid would say about the judiciary in the case of 1.7billion in back taxes due from Najib and son. He would probably agree with the decision of the court that has had granted a stay of execution from paying RM1.7 BILLION in overdue taxes from the duo.

And surprise of surprises this was made possible simply because the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) did not object to their application to suspend the execution. (World of Buzz)

But the people were not only upset because Zahid was let off the hook but more with LHDN for not bothering to push hard to collect the long overdue taxes of 1.7 billion yet the agency pursued lowly rakyat who owed them a small sum like RM75 and barred that individual from leaving the country.

Weird Kaya reported that a woman recently shared on Twitter how she was prevented from leaving the country over a RM75 back taxes she owed to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN). Weird kaya 23 September. She was surprised to discover that the amount was a debt for a real estate gains tax for a piece of property that her parents had bought using her name. For that pittance she could have missed a flight and would have not been able to atrend the wedding of her best friend.

All these surprises happened in one week. A week when we discovered there's absolutely nothing wrong with Najib and his deputy who was acquitted of all corruption charges he allegedly committed.

It was also a week when Zahid discovered that he really had faith in a judiciary that he was reluctant to accept not many weeks ago.

It was also a week that our beliefs are confirmed about the double standard that exists in our country; one for the rich and another for the ordinary folks.
