Oh, yes here we go again! The wonderful world of Malaysian politics, where pragmatism knows no bounds.
It seems Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar has a newfound appreciation for kitchen sinks, suggesting that Najib Razak should be released to strengthen the Unity Government.
Well, why not, right? If you can release one Umno leader facing a laundry list of charges, why not add another one to the mix?
Khairy's logic is impeccable. After all, why settle for releasing just one tainted political figure when you can throw in the whole cabinet, including the kitchen sink?
And let's not forget, Najib is the self-proclaimed 'Bossku,' so naturally, he must possess some magical powers to control the 'green wave.' Wasn't it him who led the charge in the last state elections before he went to jail?
Who cares about accountability or the rule of law when you can have a charismatic figurehead to rally behind?
Bossku still retains his charismatic leadership even behind bars.
But fear not, Shahril Sufian Hamdan, KJ's sidekick, chimes in with his dose of realpolitik. It's not impossible, he says, with a straight face.
After all, who cares about principles when political expediency is at stake? And oh, the potential tension within Umno!
Zahid's supporters might start feeling left out. "Why is Bossku still behind bars while our guy is roaming free?" they'll cry.
Let's not forget that Najib is serving time for a mere RM42 million corruption case involving 1MDB, a drop in the ocean compared to the billions that went missing.
But hey, who's counting when unity and political games are on the menu?
Malaysia, you've truly outdone yourself this time.
Everything but the kitchen sink, indeed.
