Wolves were inspired by Nottingham Forest's contentious social media post before kick-off in their Premier League game.
That is the opinion of Steve Davis, who is interim boss at Wolves at present.
The Molineux Stadium club achieved a 1-0 win in the game, which was tight throughout the contest.
Before the match, the visitors had posted an image of wolf clubs with the caption “playtime."
The post was eventually deleted after backlash from fans and neutrals.
Post-game, Davis said: “We were aware of it. We were going to use it in the talk but I spoke to Ruben [Neves] and he'd already put it on the players' chat, so I didn't really need to say any more.
“If you can't get motivated as a professional player then you shouldn't be doing it, but that gave us an edge I think.
“I believe Ruben posted at full-time too, that's part of the game. Those sort of things used to happen on the pitch, but they don't do it so much now as social media has taken over."
