A 41-year-old woman has died at the Hurricane Festival in northern Germany after being resuscitated by emergency services on Saturday afternoon, police said.
Police said on Monday the woman was believed to have had pre-existing medical conditions. Despite resuscitation efforts, she could not be saved.
Police are investigating the exact cause of death. There are currently no indications of third-party fault or any connection to the festival in the town of Scheessel in the state of Lower Saxony.
The woman's companions suffered shock and were supported by emergency counsellors.
The Hurricane Festival is one of the largest rock festivals in Germany. The open-air music festival, which features rock, pop, alternative, indie, hip-hop and electronic music, attracts up to 70,000 visitors per day.
This year the festival celebrated its 30th anniversary and ran from Friday to Sunday.
