PENAMPANG: A 30-year-old local woman was detained by Sabah Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) personnel at a condominium in Kota Kinabalu following information on suspected drug trafficking activities.
According to Info X, she was later taken to the Penampang District Police Headquarters (IPD) Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJN) for an initial urine screening at about 9.30pm on Thursday, which tested positive for benzodiazepine (Benzo).
Sabah JSJN chief Assistant Commissioner Alhusin Halil said the woman was detained to assist investigations under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, with police to seek a remand order.
He said police were also investigating the source of the drugs and would send relevant samples to the Chemistry Department for analysis.
The arrest followed investigations into a 34-year-old local man detained in Penampang on Sept 25, after police seized suspected ecstasy powder and pills, a mobile phone and a vehicle.
