RANAU: The challenging condition on Mount Kinabalu continues to pose threats to climbers when another victim suffered complications while climbing on Tuesday morning.

Head of Ranau Fire and Rescue Department, Head of BBP Station Ranau PPgB Mohd Ridwan bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened at the Sick Bay Km 4 of Mt Kinabalu at about 11am.

Advertisement“We received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11.10am and a team of five officers and personnel led by Operation Commander PBB Wady John including the Mountain Search and Rescue Team (MoSAR) as well as mountain rangers and ParkSAR members rushed to the scene.

“When our team arrived at the location situated 2km away from the MoSAR post, we found a 27-year-old local female climber who suffered a sprain while descending.

The victim was then handed over to the MOH ambulance for further action,” he said.

It was the third case for February and 7th for 2025.
