LAHAD DATU: A 19-year-old female passenger was killed while two others were injured when the Perodua Bezza they were travelling in skidded out of control at the roundabout near IPD, here, Friday.

The State Fire and Rescue Department said it received a distress call following the 4.42am incident.

A team of nine personnel from the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team reported that a Bezza had skidded to the side of the road.

“Three people were involved. Two men including the driver managed to get out of the vehicle before the team arrival.

“The female passenger who was pinned inside the vehicle was freed by the team. She was later confirmed dead by a government medical officer at the scene,” said the department.

The woman’s body was later handed over to the police for further action, while the other two were taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
