
PAPAR: WSG Group donated 26 lion heads, four mini lion heads and one dragon to 26 local troupes of lion and dragon dance associations from throughout Sabah here.
Its Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said such contributions is a normal practice of her company prior to the Chinese New Year celebration starting on Jan 29.

“I hope the recipients will put the lion heads and dragon into good use in promoting and preserving our Chinese traditions.

She also handed keys to three owners of double storey commercial lots under Phase 3 of 138 units of double-storey and three-storey which are sold out at Parklane City, here.

Michael who is also vice president of the United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK) said the value of his shoplot unit when he bought was at RM1.08 million in 2022 but now it has jumped to RM1.388 million.
Another buyer was Tan Peng Juan, vice president of the Federation of Chinese Association Sabah (FCAS), who bought a double-storey shoplot at.
Tan who is also the President of Sabah Timber Industry Association (STIA) said he bought the unit because the economy is good here and there is a diversity of traffic flow coming from Kota KInabalu City, Beaufort, Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam who will make a stop at Parklane City here.
He said the growth of oil and gas industry here was another reason.
According to Tan who is also an advisor to the Board of Governors of SM Kian Kok, his wife will open a dental clinic at the shoplot he bought at Parklane City.
Susan also handed a house key to a Parklane Villa of a double- storey house with four rooms to a married couple, Grace Doreen Juhim from Kg Lakut, Papar and her husband from Ireland Ciaran Murphy who bought the house to be turned into a holiday and retirement home.
