And Xavi, after taking charge of Al Sadd, has made an approach about a deal for Puig.
Mundo Deportivo says Xavi had wanted to take Puig on a season-long loan to Qatar. However, the teen rejected the offer.
The midfielder is currently in Japan with the Barca squad.
