KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian-Filipina singer Yazmin Aziz continues to establish herself as one of Malaysia's emerging international music talents, adding yet another milestone to her growing career after securing a place in the Grand Finals of Singer Malaysia before heading to Mongolia for an international festival performance.
Yazmin will fly to Mongolia to perform at ARA Fest 2026, one of the country's largest cultural festivals.
Held throughout the month of July at the ARA Complex in Arkhangai Aimag, ARA Fest celebrates music, traditional Mongolian culture, contemporary arts, family entertainment, tourism, horse racing, adventure sports and international cultural exchange.
Yazmin has been specially invited to perform at the festival by Mongolian singer Bayartsengel, the original performer behind the hit song "Chigi Tigi Boom."
The invitation carries special significance for Yazmin, who previously performed "Chigi Tigi Boom" during her participation in Silk Way Star in Kazakhstan, last year. Her rendition of the song caught Bayartsengel's attention and eventually led to the invitation to perform alongside him in Mongolia.
Joining the festival's line-up are Bayartsengel himself as well as Michelle Joseph, winner of Silk Way Star 2025, making the event a celebration of both Mongolian music and international artistic collaboration.
For Yazmin, the invitation represents another important step in a career that is increasingly extending beyond Malaysia's borders.
The achievement comes just months after Yazmin made headlines for performing aboard the world-famous Wish Bus, one of Asia's most recognised live music platforms, further expanding her international exposure beyond Malaysia.
Prior to that, she proudly represented Malaysia at Silk Way Star, an international singing competition held in Kazakhstan, where she impressed audiences with her powerful vocals while introducing Malaysian talent to a global audience.
Now, the young singer has once again captured attention after advancing to the Grand Finals of Singer Malaysia, one of the country's biggest Chinese-language singing competitions.
Perhaps what makes the achievement even more remarkable is that Yazmin does not speak Chinese fluently, yet successfully competed against contestants performing in a language outside her native background.
Her performances throughout the competition have earned praise from audiences and judges alike, showcasing not only her vocal ability but also her determination to embrace new musical and cultural experiences.
With the competition's Grand Final taking place this weekend, Yazmin will barely have time to celebrate before embarking on another exciting international opportunity.
