
Kota Kinabalu: Yoshar M. Abd Wahab clinched the men’s gross title at the Deputy President Challenge Trophy golf tournament organised by Tawau Golf Club at the Hot Spring Course on Sunday.
He carded 81 to take the top prize. Second place went to Azelee Abd Hanid (82) and in third place was Jonathan Pang (83).
The men’s nett title was won by Dato Mark Salazar (66) followed by Tee Joo Tong (72) and Lim Kok Vun (72), while the top three places in the ladies category went to Isabella Chong (70), Yap Tze Ning (75) and Vasthi Kong (84).
In the senior category, Ibrahim Lantja (70) took the nett title with Fung Chee Kin (72) and Lee Kin Meng (74) in second and third place respectively.
A total of 161 players took part in the two-day tournament.
There were three wooden spoon winners awarded to Mohd Ali Mohd Amin (102) in the men category, Peter Liew Chi Kiaw (100) in the senior category and Lydia Liew (90) for the ladies.
The bull’s eyes winners were Arzilee Arbine, Chia Yi Ming, Akkas Lappo on the first day and Yong Kiong Vun, Ong Teh Yu and Mohd Israil on day two.
