Beaufort teams reign supreme at Sindumin volleyball tournament

SIPITANG: Beaufort teams dominated the Sindumin Gagasan Rakyat Youth Chief Men’s and Women’s Open Volleyball Tournament 2025 when Anchor VT clinched the men’s title and Lubak won the women’s at Kampung Kawang Lama recently.

In the men’s category, Temaden finished runners-up, while Sipitang-based teams VB Kiddos and ABC VT shared third place.

Anchor VT’s Mohd Sabri was named Best Setter, teammate Mohd Ezzat Zulhaire Jaidi won Best Spiker, while Temaden’s Jappry Pengiran was awarded Best Player.

In the women’s category, Rurum Tagol from Nabawan finished second, with third place shared between Glowry (Sipitang) and Iron Ladies (Labuan).

Lubak’s Roziah Bisoi was named Best Setter, teammate Dayang Shuhana Jhicob won Best Spiker, while Sindy from Rurum Tagol was awarded Best Player.

Winners of both categories received equal prizes, with champions taking home RM800, runners-up RM600, and joint third-place teams RM300.

Tournament organiser Pauline Anthony Sigar said the two-day event, held from Aug 22, was organised by Sindumin PGRS Youth Movement and featured 23 teams from Sipitang, Beaufort, Labuan, Tenom, Kota Kinabalu and Nabawan.

The tournament was officiated by Sindumin Assemblyman cum Qhazanah Sabah Berhad Chairman and PGRS Sindumin Division Chief Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob, while the prize presentation was delivered by Sindumin Gagasan Rakyat Youth Chief Walter Antahar.

Also present were Kg Kawang Lama JPKK Chairman Roy Saradan, and Gagasan Rakyat Sindumin wing leaders.
