SANDAKAN: Repairs are still ongoing for 100 units in one block of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) at Taman Harmoni, Sandakan, said Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih.
He said the units remain uninhabitable until all repair works are fully completed.
“Additional funding will be requested to complete the repairs expected to be completed this year.

“However, at the same time, we do not want them to live in incomplete or uncomfortable houses,” Isnin said in a statement during a site visit to the Taman Harmoni PPR on Tuesday.
He hoped that the repairs on the 100 houses would be completed as scheduled so that residents could move in soon.
Isnin said the government is taking seriously the issue of subletting PPR units by tenants to others.
He said more eligible individuals should be given the opportunity to live in these homes.
Regarding PPR applications from squatters affected by demolition, he said each application would be assessed by the local council and the key requirement is that both husband and wife must be Malaysian citizens.
Sandakan has 6,080 PPR units that are either occupied or repaired.
