
Two youths were killed and two others injured after a tipper allegedly rammed into a tractor-trolley near the Bhanra railway station on the Patiala-Samana road on Sunday.
According to information, the accident took place when four youths from Badshahpur Kaleke village were going back to their home on a tractor-trolley after selling green fodder in the Patiala grain market.
A tipper carrying earth-filling material, coming from the Patiala side, allegedly hit the tractor-trolley from behind, the police said.
The deceased were identified as Rajvinder Singh (32), a resident of Badshahpur Kaleke, and a migrant labourer Girdari Lal hailing from Uttar Pradesh.
The police said the youths died on the spot due to the severe impact of the collision. Another occupant, Dilawar Singh, sustained injuries in the accident, while one Tilak, who was also travelling with them, escaped with minor injuries after falling from the trolley.
A team of the Road Safety Force reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospital.
The police have initiated a probe into the incident.
