MANILA, Philippines — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said 21 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) safely returned to the Philippines from Kuwait on Wednesday.
The arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 through a Kuwait Airways Flight.
The OWWA said in Filipino and English in a statement on Facebook that their repatriation stemmed from "various personal, medical, and employment-related concerns."
It said it immediately welcomed and assisted them "to ensure the organized processing of their arrival and immediately give the needed airport assistance like food, financial assistance, and temporary hotel acxommodation, if needed."
The OWWA said its Regional Welfare Offices would "assist them in their reintegration through livelihood assistance, employment facilitation, counseling, and other welfare programs to help them rise again and start anew."
It says it is following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive "to ensure that there is prompt, comprehensive, and compassionate support for every Filipino worker anywhere in the world."
