25 OFWs from Saudi Arabia, Hungary, ship return to PH

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-five overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Saudi Arabia, Hungary and the M/V Abashie have safely returned to Manila, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said Friday.

Eight distressed OFWs from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 aboard Cebu Pacific Flight 5J741, while nine distressed OFWs from Hungary arrived on the China Eastern Flight MU211.

Meanwhile. eight Filipino seafarers from the M/V Abashie also arrived aboard Turkish Airlines Flight TK084.

OWWA said that the returning workers were met and assisted at the airport by personnel from the agency, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and a medical team.

Airport assistance and coordination were immediately provided to address the workers' needs and facilitate their return to their respective families, according to OWWA.

OWWA said that it would continue coordinating with the DMW and other government agencies in providing assistance to OFWs, from their arrival at the airport through their return to their families.
